The team

MAMADOU CISS is the President and Founding Partner of Alliance Commodities. His career in rice began with Cargill Geneva in 1984. In 1992 he founded Inglewood Gestion SA, after which he set up Ascot Commodities (part of the ADDAX ORYX group) in 1997. In 2006 he left for Singapore where he created Hermes Investments Pte Ltd. Upon returning to Geneva in 2011, he launched Alliance Commodities. Mr Ciss has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Geneva. Mamadou has 28 years experience in trading rice.

ANTHONY PATWARY is Alliance Commodities Managing Director and Founding Partner. He also began his career at Cargill in Geneva in 1992 before joining Marc Rich Investments and later Ascot Commodities. In 2011 he joined forces with Mamadou Ciss and created Alliance Commodities SA. Mr Patwary has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Bentley University and an MBA from Babson College. Anthony has 20 years experience in trading rice.

AGY MONGENGO is working in operations at Alliance Commodities. Mrs. Mongengo was also with Ascot Commodities before joining Alliance Commodities. Agy has over 10 years of experience in rice operations.

SOPHIE GANCEL works in operations at Alliance Commodities. She worked as Futures and Swap Operator and then as Trading Operator for Totsa Total Oil Trading SA for 6 years before joining Hermes Investments Pte Ltd, a rice trading company, as Trading Operator. She joined Alliance Commodities in 2012. She holds degrees from both the Ecole Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur (ESCE Paris) and South Bank University London.

PATRICK MONIN is working in operation specializing in shipping. He has over 15 years experience as a comodities trading operator. After completing a banking CFC with UBS Geneva in 1992 he joined a small cotton trading company before starting to work as freight forwarder for Cargill's world trading unit in 1995. In 2004 he joined Ascot Commodities. From 2010 he worked for Eridania (Suisse) SA before joining Alliance Commodities in 2012.

CAROLINE SPELLMEIER has joined AC begining 2014 as a commercial director for the south american markets. She has over 15 years experience in import/export, cost controls, warehousing and logistic operations including exploration and devolopment of new markets in brazil and abroad.
