Survivor Worlds Apart

Just caught up on the show!

Seriously after 345 seasons it just never gets old!

I was so happy to see So voted out! I agree with you insider (first time for everything ;) ) I felt it was foolish to choose depriving the tribe of food so early in the race, for a small chance to find a single idol. To so obviously plant that huge seed of mistrust so early in the game was idiotic.

I think the fact So so proudly announced her complete 4 power alliance in that tribal council arena showed her ignorance when it comes to the game.

Can't wait for the next ep!
Which castaways did you like Trala?

I think Vince confirmed the secret magician's code that guys put feathers in their hair to lay hippie girls. I'd like to see some of his life-coach students when he's not vending coconuts.

I am not happy about that vote! Vince was such a fucking weird lunatic and I loved it! If Will had stuck to the plan the Jenn blindside would have been amazing! Her smug face turning sour would have been great TV. I am so pissed that Will has screwed himself over and practically handed the advantage to the "cool kids". Every reality show the cool kids come out on top. I so badly wanted the dysfunctional crew to come out on top for once (Vince, Will, Nina). But no, it was all ruined when Nina had a MASSIVE brain fade and told Will that Vince was worried about his health which resulted in Will becoming offended and voting off Vince.

I was so hoping for a crazy, unpredictable move from Vince later on in the season and I would have loved to have seen his interactions with players like Carolyn, Shirin, Dan, Lindsey, Rodney, Joaquin and Max. Say what you want about Vince but he was TV gold. Such a train wreck!

Anyway that TERRIBLE game play all round from the no collars was so lol worthy.

A quick summary of all their stupid moves:

  • The cool gang (Joe, Jenn and Hali) trusting Will enough to split the votes when Will was actually against them. They are so lucky Nina fucked it up and pissed off Will.
  • Will voting out Vince and effectively giving power to the cool kids, an alliance that he is on the bottom of. Haha!!
  • Nina screwing up her own plan by telling Will that Vince was worried about his health.
  • And finally Vince for being paranoid and confrontational from the start.
I am not loving this season as much as I thought I would but there are still plenty of great characters who will continue to develop and I still have really high hopes for this season. One thing I am sure of and excited about is the fact that there will be some big, unpredictable and crazy moves similar to moves that Tony and Kass made in Cagayan <3. You can just tell because of how crazy the cast is and how pumped and excited Jeff Probst was for this season. That can only mean one thing, lots of big moves and blindsides.

I wasn't a fan of Vincent but shocked he was voted off.

Jen seems to be taking on the queen bee role.

White collar really stepped up this episode but standing there with your vadge hanging out in front of a married man? Awks

All it really means is that the end game is dominated by men and a dude will win this season. Probst is so transparent.

The last episode was like three good episodes rolled into one.

It was rude of the no collars to not talk to nina's face, but the swimming part was a storm in a teacup. The team is divided down age lines, not gender, and not even girlface Joe was personally 'invited'.

Nina should have been voted off for playing the worst strategy ever really. Whiteant your own alliance.

PS the blue collar camp is surrounded by so much edible cactus they should be eating like kings.

Oh, that was so upsetting! Buggeration. I was getting into Vince, as a player, with his close-set eyes. Son of Coach, with more than a dash of paranoia. And now I loathe all the ones on No Collar who I originally liked.

Bring back Vince!

I agree somewhat although the difference between this season and the other seasons that Probst hyped up is that several other sources in the know hyped this season up big time so I think there is a good reason that Probst hyped this season so heavily beyond a man that he is fond of dominating.

I am kind of glad the White Collars won immunity this episode. In Phillipines and Cagayan there was the tribe decimation of Matsing and Luzon early on. Hopefully Blue Collars lose next week and that will be the first time in a 3 tribe season that all three tribes have gone to the first three tribal councils.

In a two tribe situation, it's obvious that you want to dominate the first half and reach the merge with numbers.

But what is the theory in the 3 tribe, balance of power situation. In the last 3 tribe game, the undermanned underdogs did very well during the merge and tribe lines dissolved early. Come a three way merge, provided the bottom 2 tribes have numbers, they should be in the best position, as they must negotiate together, or die.

In my view, shooting for challenge domination early is meaningless and possibly a bad thing in the 3 tribe game. It's a very different game than just the race of 2. I don't believe in throwing challenges, but I also don't see a downside to getting rid of teammates who are strong in challenges.

In theory, it's better to keep your numbers up. Though these tribes are dysfunctional and not at all tight like the brawn tribe was in Cagayan. They are more like the beauties who didn't have much cohesion.
No collars will now have to compete with both Will and Nina against the other tribes. They won't win and may not win again until the swap. Though maybe they will just lose will and Nina, they will end up swapping with fewer numbers. The blue collars will be intact (or maybe without Dan, if they lose one.) And white collar will have 5.

Keeping the numbers are better just because in theory you have more allies in a swap or the merge. But who knows if the swap will keep 2 of the tribes almost intact like brawny and brains in Cagayan.

As a viewer, it's better if the tribes are more competitive. It was tedious to watch brains at every tribal council.

I definitely agree more with what Witty Banter has to say in that tribal numbers aren't quite as important in 3 tribe seasons because there isn't a clear-cut us vs. them dynamic. Survivor is so predictable these days and it's obvious that there will be a tribe swap at or around episode 5, and once you get control of your own tribe it doesn't really matter if you win or lose challenges. In fact, it might be better to lose challenges so your tribe can be a tight unit to exploit post-swap divisions. Look at how far the remaining members of Saboga, Matsing, and Luzon were able to get because of the internal conflicts in the other two tribes.
