I purchased this lens to use on my APS-C camera because my FA 77mm f1.8 was just too long for certain occasions. Hopefully this lens would let me get up close, without having to take a few steps back and bump into things. The perfect place to test this lens was at a funeral reception. I brought alon...
Shooting M43 I found the need for ultra fast glass, when I got used to the very big DOF inherent in this platform. And I found this glass available in vintage glass starting with the Olympus Zuiko OM 50/1.4. A very nice small package compared to modern AF lenses. It is sharp and has the very thin DO...
I had been on the lookout for a fast “normal-ish” prime to use with the K3-III Monochrome, and the two contenders that continually popped up in all of the searches were this lens and the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art, which I have extensive experience with on the Canon EF mount. And my opinion on the Sigma ...
Purchased the DFA 28-105 as first lens for a new KF body. Outstanding lens in my opinion considering the size, handling and price of $396.00 new from B&H! 43mm-161mm on the crop sensor is a good working range for me as my goal was to cover 50mm-135mm as a walk around lens. Hood with the cutout is a ...
Excellent lens, it's on par with my pentax DFA 24-70mm to f/3.5 from f/5.6. The sharpness is better from f/8 to f/16. There is little to no aberation, the flare resistance is excellent. There is a little of distorsion, but it's easy to fix in Photoshop.

Sharpness wide open was a bit disappointing but stopped down it's very sharp. Image rendering and colours are beautiful. I had to adjust focusing by -2. Live view focusing is always spot on and it's quite fast for a screwdrive focus. Handling is good. One of my most used lenses for sure.
I think this is a great addition to the kit of a new-ish hobbyist like me. My expectations for this lens were quite low in light of its price, but I couldn’t be happier with its image quality performance. I routinely put it on my K3 and take it with me whenever I walk the dog or go for bike rides ar...
An excellent ultra-wide lens for the 6x7 system. Far wider than it appears if you are using a prism, which ends up being a bit of a blessing in disguise. The edges are pretty routinely a little smeary with lots of blue fringing, but because of the 90% coverage of the prism, these tend to be in the c...
Let me start to state that this lens is somehow unusual prime lens IMHO. It is an old mid-range tele lens that does not have a replacement among the modern Pentax line-up. The casing is old fashion, with its built-in hood. The focus ring is placed at the opposite end of the lens, compared to the ape...
