This looks exactly like the spare wheel set that i have in my Spyder, so GS/4200 sounds to be right.
He might mean fits a series IV Quattroportte, But I had a different spare in my series IV it was a thin space saver and a Ferrari 5 pointed star design from the later car's.
I didn't think that QP IV, 3200/4200/GS were interchangeable , Maybe someone knows for sure ?

Been advertised before. I emailed and was told it came from a GS. I thought the QP. Had a different PCD so not sure how it would fit both. I need a spare but the confusing info makes it too risky to buy and ship to Aust.
Whilst I am here it appears that after market 19 wheels for a Volvo XC90 fit the GS with correct PCD Bore centre and offset within acceptable parameters. Don't know about the UK but down here in Aust that means I can get a full size spare wheel and tyre for about 500 Aussie or 300 quid. Anyone looked at this as an option?

Geoff, if you could investigate further and firm up all the specs that would be great!!!

This would only be for the GS, or fits 4200 also?

Ive also been down this route , and you are correct Geof that skinny is for a QP and will not fit a GS end of ......................be very careful with the volvo spec , the offset is similar but remember we only have a few mm clearance between the rim and the brake calipers. i would want to spin and try it first rather than relying on it when you have no choice

That aspects a bit confusing because the factory spare fits both 4200 and GS despite different wheel size. I am told that so long as the rolling radius is within ten mills then itsok. I am speaking with the aftermarket wheel manufacturer tomorrow as he wants meto measure the inside diameter of my GS. Rims to ensure there are no caliper clearance issues. The idea is buy the front wheel width as running narrower on the backs not a problem whereas running the rear width on the front is likely to have a clearance problem. I am thinking I will just buy the wheel and try it on the front and rear for clearance as I know all other dimensions are correct. If there is a clearance problem with the calipers I will sell it on eBay. Might lose a few bucks but can save a lot more. I'll keep you posted. Geoff

Definately a good option geoff front will work on both front and back , only downside is lack of boot space when doing a tour , but hey i could live with that

Thanks Loz, I can live without the boot space too as its either too far and too boring to drive so you fly or it's only a couple of hours and you don't need much kit. No cross border driving downhere If you don't have a spare of some kind and you have a blow out (the foamy stuff isn't much help then) then it could be hours of roadside waiting and then a flat tray home. I'll update tomorrow evening. Cheers Geoff

I do know that the QP spare wheel does not fit the 4200/GS/3200, Loz found this out the hard way in France.

P and Loz. I didn't manage to catch up with the wheel man today but I did measure up my boot. The 19 inch wheel with an inflated tyre will be a real tight fit in the GS trunk but I think will go in with the tyre deflated Do you know if the GS has larger discs and calipers than the 4200? If not then the 18 inch wheel with higher profile tyre might be a better option Means carrying a small compressor but not a big deal. More to follow when I catch the wheel man (hopefully tomorrow) cheers Geoff

Loz or Matt will know exactly about disc/caliper sizes, but think they are the same......cheers Geoff!

Geoff, all 3200/4200/GS run the same disc, caliper and pads all round.

Think you'll find Geoff (not 100% sure ) that a 4200 18 wheel and tyre are the same size as a 19GS wheel and tyre , the 18 has a much larger profile , worth checking though

Thanks Loz, I am back on the case today so I should have an update this evening. I am in Melbourne and the wheel manufacturer is in Sydney otherwise I could just go and try one hence I am thinking just buy the wheel ship it down and sell it if it doesn't fit. Worst case it will be a rust proof planter for the beach house! Cheers Geoff

Thanks Matt would I be correct in saying then that the 18 inch 4200 wheel will bolt straight onto the GS and clear the calipers etc? If thats the case then an 18 Volvo xc 90 ( which this company does) wheel with a higher tyre profile to get same rolling radius as GS 19 inch wheel (bear in mind the tyre will be deflated) will be a better option for storing in the boot. Thanks Geoff

Geoff yes the 4200 18" will bolt straight on to the GS. The only difference across the coupe range is the wheel bolts are longer 3200 to 4200/GS
