Virginia H. Lappin, Kingsport, TN, passed away on March 21, 2015, at Brookhaven Manor at the age of 91.
Born in Chicago, she moved to Kingsport in 1951. She was an alumna of Northwestern University and a lifelong student of music, singing, and piano. For many years she was a soloist in the choir of the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsport and later taught music at the kindergarten of the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. In addition to music, she loved cooking, sewing, gardening, dogs, and traveling in Europe and in the Western USA.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Gerald Lappin; her son, Jeffrey Lappin and his wife Joice, and by her daughter, Linda Lappin-Baldassarre and son-in-law, Sergio Baldassarre.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the City of Kingsport Animal Shelter, 2141 Idle Hour Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.
