Clifford "Punk" House

Funeral services for Clifford "Punk" House will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the First Christian Church of Chelsea. Pastor Richard Billings will officiate. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wed. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.

Clifford Lee "Punk" House passed away Sunday March 22, 2015 at his home in Chelsea at the age of 97.

The son of Robert and Ida Douglas House was born February 1, 1918 in Winganon, Oklahoma. As a young boy he attended Winganon schools, and later Sequoyah Indian School in Tahlequah. When he became old enough to work, he began working on the family farm. One evening while he was driving down Main St. of Chelsea, he met Wanda Marie Beck. They married December 30, 1939 in Chelsea. Over the next several years Punk worked in the oil fields, coal mines, as well as in Tulsa at places such as Zephyr Metal Craft with the Crain Operators Union before retiring from local iron workers union in 1983. Punk's whole life was spent in and around the Chelsea area. There he loved raising cattle, farming and raising a garden. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the First Christian Church of Chelsea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ida House, daughter, Phyllis Grimes; grandson, Tim Inman; 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Survivors include his wife Wanda of the home; children, Linda Bacon and husband Rob of Chelsea, Cliff House Jr, and wife Ann Marie of McAlester, and Gary House and wife Connie of Claremore; sisters: Mary Jane Delozier of Chelsea, and Alene Kitchel of Bartlesville; grandchildren, Tammy Gaff and husband Dusty, Trent Inman and wife Ruth, Holly Meek and husband Austin, Caleb House, Casey House, and Amberlie Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Dakota, and Cheyenne Gaff, Justin, Cody, Avery, Fletcher, and Daxon Inman, Arden and Vivian Meek and Nick McCauley.
