MULLETVILLE — If you know a mega sports fan, you know that they get deep into the details.

They not only watch their team’s actual games closely, but they like to dig deep into stats, trades, strategies, the psyche of coaches and much more. And if you’re not a mega sports fan your own self, there’s almost nothing worse than hearing the mega sports fan drone on about the layers of minutia of sport. (Or as I like to call it, sportsing.)

That being said, occasionally a mega sports fan does or says something so amazing, practically everyone can enjoy it. Even if it is over seven minutes long.

A man from Minnesota — as heard in his accent — for the fifth year in a row has put together his picks for the best hair in high school hockey in his state. And trust me, it is glorious from visuals to commentary. It reminds me of the old Warren Miller ski videos where he narrates the highs and lows on the slopes.

You might think you’ve gone back to the '80s with the amount of mullets and bleach that make the cut, but I’m guessing that between the “tastes” of greasy, teenage boys and hockey culture, these coiffures are the norm in the hockey-happy Midwest.

I know, I know, the video is a bit long, but even I watched the whole thing with delight. If you want to get straight to the goods, start watching 40 seconds in, and don’t miss the honorable mentions in the second half.

The sweet cherry on top is the video isn’t just about the laughs, it’s about giving back, too. The unnamed Minnesota man paired up with Warrior Sports to draw attention to and make a views-based donation, to the Hendrickson Foundation, which helps hockey players who are “wheelchair-bound, amputees, have cognitive issues or were injured serving our country in the military,” according to the website.
