Overview
GeoLynx Server for FEMA IPAWS is a web mapping system for originating geo-targeted notifications broadcast via the FEMA Integrated Alert and Warning System.
When a disaster or emergency strikes, it has always been important for alert and warning officials to have the ability to provide the public with life saving information accurately and quickly. The Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) is a modernization and integration of the nation’s alert and warning infrastructure and will save time when time matters the most, protecting lives and property.
FEMA authorized alerting authorities may now use GeoLynx Server to leverage the power of Esri ArcGIS Online, and AGOL organizational accounts, to launch geo-targeted alerts to the public through the FEMA IPAWS system.
In addition, GeoLynx Server users may now access IPAWS and Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) messages published by federal agencies, state government organizations, local government, public safety organizations, tribal governments, and territorial governments. Through this accessibility, GeoLynx Server users can also monitor weather watches and warnings from the National Weather Service, and can combine IPAWS alerts with local Emergency Notification System (ENS) broadcasts.
