Math

We are excited to have a brand new Everyday Math program that is aligned with the Kansas College and Career Readiness Standards.

Welcome to Kindergarten!

I believe that all students can reach their fullest potential. I believe that this is a journey and not a race. In Kindergarten we will explore, read, write, cut, color, paint, share, play, count, add, subtract, and learn to enjoy the differences in each of us in a safe and positive environment.  My goal is to develop good, caring citizens and lifelong learners.

Please join me on this journey with your child this year.

Sincerely,

Kaylene Allison

Snacks

Kindergarteners are very busy working hard each day.  They need a daily snack to keep them going.  At the beginning of each month I will be asking each child to bring in individually wrapped snacks (healthy) to add to our snack basket.  Each day your child will get to pick something from our snack basket.  Examples are: individually wrapped: crackers, graham crackers, pretzels, fruit snacks, snack mix, etc.

Educational Programs

English Language Arts (ELA)

Andover USD 385 adopted a new ELA program last year, Lead 21.  This program utilizes both whole group and small group instruction to meet the needs of all students.  Lead 21 also encorporates both science and social studies.  We will also use Pathways to Reading as a supplemental phonics program.
