Next concert: Saturday 9 November 2024: Jonathan Dove, The Passing of the Year, Priory Church, Doncaster
The Choir
Doncaster Choral Society was formed in 1888 under its earlier name of Doncaster Musical Society. We have over 100 years of tradition in excellent and engaging choral performance, drawing our members from across Doncaster and beyond.
We are proud to have around 50-60 active choir members and to perform with leading soloists and musicians from across the region. We were delighted to be able to appoint Matt Beckingham in 2023 as our new Musical Director.
Our programme for 2023-24 was themed around 'Hope' and we gave four concerts over the season in November, December, March and May. In December, our members also usually sing carols at a church service and at the Woolmarket, Doncaster.
We rehearse in Cantley, with Matt and the choir being ably supported by our regular accompanist Simon Corner, and this year we have performed our concerts in St Jude's Church, Hexthorpe.
Our 2024-25 season concert plans will be published here soon.
