Program

programpicThe Lucerne Academy offers students a variety of academic experiences during a three week period each year. The Lucerne Academy consists of courses (what we call taught courses),  core lunchtime seminars, an excursion to Geneva, and a prominent moot court exercise, all of which will be conducted in English.

In 2014, the program will be held in Lucerne from Monday, July 7th until the closing reception on Friday, July 25th, 2014. Participating students will earn ten (10) ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits for participation in the three-week program. Transcripts of grades and credits will be provided by the University of Lucerne.

The program will be taught by distinguished faculty from the University of Lucerne and our partner universities. Students will be given the chance to design their own course of study with a choice of three classes, apart from one mandatory course, out of seven available offerings. There will also be a prominent moot court and accompanying lunch-time seminar, where students will interact with distinguished professors and sharpen their skills in litigation.

Students will also have the exciting opportunity to visit the Swiss city of Geneva for a two-day excursion. During that time, we will visit international bodies and hear prominent NGOs discuss what their roles are in protecting human rights and what their work consists of.
