Airport of the Week
Can you guess the name of the airport below?
If so, why not attach a screenshot in the comments section...but DO NOT mention the name (gives others a chance) ?
Clue: This small, rural airport is nestled in a land reminiscent of where Dorothy, Toto, and their three companions might adventure. The airport's name subtly echoes that of a popular Indian dish. If you're up for a spicy challenge, can you guess which airport this is?
Well done to Gason71, Lysan, basmartin, WalSch, TacanTom, Benkornflies, Dennis Powell, MarcXP, and J.K., who correctly guessed last week’s airport, which was Augusta Airport (YAUG).

Airport of the Week
Can you guess the name of the airport below?
If so, why not attach a screenshot in the comments section...but DO NOT mention the name (gives others a chance) ?
Clue: This week’s airport sits where two oceans meet, serving a town whose name echoes a peak summer month. Positioned at the southernmost point of its region, this gateway opens to scenic coastlines, historic lighthouses, and waters frequented by migrating whales.
Well done to WalSch, Gason71, Dennis Powell, J.K., dekel233, new2, royaloak, TacanTom, and MarcXP, who correctly guessed last week’s airport, which was Lake Placid Airport (KLKP).
Did You Know
"Glacier Girl," a Lockheed P-38F Lightning from World War II, was part of the Lost Squadron forced to land on a Greenland ice field in 1942 due to severe weather. After the crew was rescued, the plane was left behind and eventually buried under 268 feet of ice. Miraculously, 50 years later, in 1992, it was excavated by the Greenland Expedition Society. Restored to flying condition in Middlesboro, Kentucky, Glacier Girl took to the skies again in October 2002.

Edit April 13 2024: unfortunately there are some errors in the scenery "Ligurian COAST Totally insane" for both XP12 and XP11, my guilty: stupidly I'didn't cecked the Log.txt files before the publishing trusting on the fact that my XP12 and 11 worked fine on my system.
So now I provide you a Patch to solve the various reported problems.
(First, only if you use x plane 11, you have to install the patch for compatibility with x plane 11 present in the package zip fille. Overwrting the various BCSceneries folders in X-Plane 11/Custom Scenery with the ones in the patch)
Installation:
You have the extract the four folders in this .zip into ../X-Plane 12/Custom Scenery
Subsequently you have to remove the following file ..Custom Scenery/BCSceneries - Ligurian COAST D d orthophoto and Savona city/Earth nav data/+40+000/+43+007.dsf
and you have to remove the following folder:
..\X-Plane 12\Custom Scenery\BCSceneries - Ligurian COAST B LIMJ and harbour landmarks\plugins\Living Scenery Technology
..\X-Plane 12\Custom Scenery\BCSceneries - Ligurian COAST C residential areas\plugins\Living Scenery TechnologyThat's all for now,
If there will be reported further erros with the scenery, we'll make the needed patches
Again, I'm very sorry for this mistake,
Bruno
Hi to you all!! We have finally finished the development of "Ligurian COAST Totally insane" (two years of work!).
It's been published on X-Plane.org store at the following link:
https://store.x-plane.org/LIMJ--Ligurian-COAST-Totally-insane_p_1231.html
More screenshots at the following link:
Following a short description:Ligurian COAST Totally insane
Scenery for X-Plane 12.0.8+
-This scenery covers the entire Liguria region in Northern Italy (7000 square Kilometers). It include three airports (LIMJ Genova Sestri, LIMG Albenga Airport and LIQW Sarzana Luni Military Airport) and three cities (Genova, Savona and La Spezia).
All the three cities overlook the sea and have mountains behind them.
The region include coasts, mountains, plains and cities (each with an harbour).
La spezia city include an Italian NAVY with UHD military ships (work by Dario Ruga).
The entire region with the cities include 1-0.5 m/pixel (ZL 17/18) Orthophotos. The city of Genova has 600.000 inhabitants and a metropolitan area of 1.500.000 inhabitants. It covers an area of 243 square kilometers.
The cities of Savona and La Spezia uses generic buildings for industrial areas and relies on default or third party autogen for residential areas.
The city of Genova features 100 UHD landmarks (included the LIMJ airport) distributed in the airport, the harbour, industrial areas, Ancient Port, Fair and residential areas (3D modeled - 16000 buildings).
The residential buildings uses generic facades and real roofs (the roofs uses PBR material).
Some of the UHD landmarks in Genova city are: La Lanterna (lighthouse), animated Ferris wheel, San Giorgio Bridge (former Morandi Bridge), the fair, the static Canadair airplanes at LIMJ (all works by Marcogrifo), Genova's Aquarium, the skycrapers at Administrative center and many others. Further the three cities features hundreds of ships, boats, cranes, containers, parked trains and parked trucks and cars.
The city of Genova features a photographic night environment. It is very realistic and vibrant. The night version is ready for the future "foggy lights" function that will be present in next patches from Laminar Research (it is now activable with the use of "Dataref Editor" plug-in from Laminar Research (free)).
The cities of Savona and La Spezia relies (for night lighting) on default or third party scenery.- In the Ancient Port (near the Galata Sea Museum), there is a submarine (Nazario Sauro S 518) ultra high detailed.
- Helipads in the airport and in the fair (Eastern of the city).
- LIMJ airport features the runway (10/28) on a peninsula on the sea. It serves airline and GA traffic. The entire airport is builded in high definition. It feautures 20 architectural complexes in HD.
The LIMJ Terminal is an UHD model and it has partial prerendered generic interiors.
Further there are custom ground services moving near the Terminal. Also at the Terminal there are moving (walking) people.
I've rebuilded the Terminal that now is updated to the next 2025 year (in real life there are currently works on expansion of the Terminal).- The control tower at LIMJ has generic prerendered interiors.
- LIMJ Terminal require "Autogate" plug-in by Marginal (the last version) to have animated jetways.
- The airports of Albenga (LIMG) and Sarzana (LIQW) are made in a quite good quality with all the buildings present in real life.
Both has single runways. They serves GA traffic.- In partial outback there is hand placed vegetation (trees for forest and fruit trees for agricultural fields).
- Sea from photoreal textures.
- Realistic and accurate ILS offset of 2 degrees at LIMJ airport.
- Extensive documentation for the airports (by ENAV) and the city (wikipedia).
- Included Patch to the compatibility of the scenery with X-Plane 11
EDIT: has been reported to me that the xp11 version don't work at all. I'm so sorry. I'm making a patch to solve this problem. If also to you happen the same thing, please send me your Log.txt.
REQUIREMENTSX-Plane 12.0.8+
6 GB VRAM Minimum - 8 GB+ VRAM Recommended
Download size: 6.75 GB
Hard disk space needed for installation: 10.50 GB
Current Version : New release
Here some screenshots:
The scenery costs $32 for new customers, it's free for 5.0 release customers.
I’ve also to thanks the GeoPortal Liguria ( https://geoportal.regione.liguria.it/) for the orthophotos of Portofino Park.Performances:
The scenery is been tested with the following system:
Cpu Intel Core i5 9400F (4.1 ghz Turbo)
Mainboard MSI B365M PRO-VH
ram DDR4 16gb Kingstone
Videocard Geforce RTX 2060 6gb.Using Vulkan and default aircraft and no other scenery installed on the same area and not clouds, the FPS is 25/30 in the airport and 35/50 over city. 45/60 over surroundings. The simulation is very smooth and stable.
Here my settings:
Please, feel free to report eventual errors and ask for missing landmarks (we'll make the corrections in the next eventual Patch).
Have a good fun and good exploring (remember to start the flight from LIMJ, LIMG and LIQW airports).

Airport of the Week
This week's featured airport clue comes to us courtesy of skycycle. Can you guess the name of the airport below?
If so, why not attach a screenshot in the comments section...but DO NOT mention the name (gives others a chance) ?
Clue: The village and region this challenging little mountain airport serves is a popular destination for both summer and winter sports and relaxation and has hosted the Winter Olympics. Yet it is just a two-hour trip in a C172 from one of the world's largest and most dynamic metropolitan coastal cities.
Well done to Gason71, new2, Stefan_Joensuu, WalSch, Kerm1t, Dennis Powell, J.K., royaloak, Bob D., Benkornflies, skycycle, TacanTom, ACRepp, and MarcXP, who all correctly guessed last week’s airport, which was St. John's International Airport (CYYT).

Okay, I'll calibrate the contingency fuel to 5%/15 mins and report back. Interesting. Have you calibrated the Fuel Factor on SimBrief to try and match the fuel burn by any chance? Which also begs me the question, re. ToLiss's A340 tutorial flight of New York to Hong Kong, was that flight demonstrated with full passenger load, or was it based on the MTOW with reduced passenger capacity?
