And I hear you’ve ended up fine.

And I’ve heard you’re making out alright.

I’ve heard you still don’t like the cold outside,

And I’ve heard you still got trouble tracking time.

And I heard you said one time,

That I never even fucking cross your mind.

I guess I’ll act like that’s fine,

But you should know that you cross mine all the time.

So don’t fall in love, there’s just too much to lose If you’re given the choice, then I beg you to choose To walk away, walk away, don’t let her get you. I can’t bear to see the same happen to you.

I miss him the most when the days are too warm. Where crickets sing me to sleep and I remember how it felt to hear him laugh. Tonight is one of those nights. He tasted like milk and honey with caramel skin stretched over bones, and muscles, and love. I wanted to tell him I hated him that night, but he smiled and all the darkness that seeped its way into my brain evaporated. I hope he’s happy, actually; I know he’s happy. And I think that makes the ache in my chest throb a little tighter.

But they aren’t documented so they wouldn’t be pa…..nvm

This is a huge misconception for regular Americans. When the government uses the phrase “undocumented” they’re using it incorrectly because if they were truly undocumented then they would’ve be in system. However these immigrants are in the system and they pay taxes, file tax returns and get no benefits that citizens and legal residents get. They also get to see ICE showing up at their doors because the government has their addresses. Fun fact. “Undocumented” workers pays $12 billion dollars every year in taxes. https://www.google.com/amp/www.forbes.com/sites/niallmccarthy/2016/10/06/how-much-tax-do-americas-undocumented-immigrants-actually-pay-infographic/amp/

Reblogging for info.

“Undocumented” just means “without papers,” i.e. a social security card, valid visa, etc. They’re still on databases and whatnot, they just don’t have the documentation that allows them to reap the benefits.

so if it didn’t click- the government is aware of their presence and gladly taking their money under the table while simultaneously promoting the idea that undocumented people are a threat and encouraging hatred and distrust of them it’s super messed up, literally the scheme of an evil villain, and it’s really happening

🗣 undocumented immigrants in Los Angeles contribute more to the GDP than the state of Montana and like 5 other states

You’re going to forget me. It won’t be fast or sudden or something where I’m clear one day and an empty space the next. But, slowly, you’ll forget the sound of my voice, and then you won’t be able to picture the shape of my face, and eventually you’ll be looking at the sky right before the clouds start pouring rain, and you won’t be able to quite place the familiarity of that color, but it will be the same gray-blue that is my eyes. You’ll no longer know that, though. I’ll just be an outline, a blurry body of disconnected memories that occasionally fits into your past. And that’s okay. Some people aren’t meant to be remembered. I’m just one of those people.

After he broke my heart, I began writing about him. I wrote and I wrote and I’ve described him as a hurricane, a drug, my universe. Now that I’ve moved on, I don’t see him in that way anymore. He wasn’t anything above ordinary, he was just a boy. A boy who didn’t want to be with me and that’s that.
