  • CWS Second Baseman #28
Remillard went unclaimed on waivers and will likely wind up sticking around with the White Sox as extra organizational depth after being removed earlier this week from the club’s 40-man roster.
  • ARI Starting Pitcher #52
Montgomery presumably went through his entire usual pregame routine prior to Tuesday’s showdown against the Dodgers before the removal of a bee colony that formed behind home plate resulted in a two-hour delay. It’s an unfortunate break for fantasy managers as the 31-year-old left-hander loses a start to one of the more bizarre incidents in recent memory.
  • HOU Third Baseman #2
The Astros found themselves down 3-0 after the first inning, but Bregman’s 426-foot blast, which marked his first homer of the season, drew things even at 3-3. It’s been a slow start to the season for Bregman, who entered the day slashing .216/.287/.268. He’s hit safely in four of his last five games and could be on the verge of finally heating up. Getting that first home run out of the way is hopefully a step in the right direction.
  • HOU Catcher #17
Caratini’s second home run of the season came in dramatic fashion while also helping the Astros complete a comeback that started with a three-run deficit in the first inning. On a night when the Astros homered three times and sent two three-run bombs into the seats, it was Caratini’s two-run homer in extras that sent fans home happy. Down 9-8 in the bottom of the 10th and with two outs, Caratini was brought on to pinch hit for Jake Meyers and wasted little time at the plate to secure the win, ripping a 1-0 fastball from Hunter Gaddis into the stands for the walk-off win. Caratini has hit in three straight games but has appeared in only 14 games this season. Despite the big night in a clutch spot, he can remain on waivers for next week.
  • CLE Shortstop #0
Giménez hit his first home run of the season on Tuesday when he took Cade Smith deep to right for a two-run bomb. Giménez closes out the first month of the season with a line of .280/.347/.374 to go with one homer, 17 RBI, and 17 runs scored. While he doesn’t provide much power, Giménez is providing plenty as far as scoring and driving in runs are concerned.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #58
It was a rough start to the night for Brown, who retired just one of the first four batters he faced. Things went from bad to worse when Josh Naylor swatted a three-run homer into left to put the Astros into an early deficit before their offense even took the field. Brown needed 26 pitches to get out of the first but would go on to allow three more runs before being pulled in the sixth after giving up a home run to Andrés Giménez and later walking Josh Naylor. It’s been a rough start to the season for Brown, who is taking a 9.78 ERA and 2.22 WHIP into next month. He’ll look to get right in his next outing which comes on Sunday against the Mariners.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #52
With Edwin Diaz having thrown on two straight nights, the Mets needed to turn to somebody else to close down the game on Tuesday. López entered with a 4-1 lead in the ninth and allowed a double to Mike Tauchman and two straight groundouts, one of which scored a run, before inducing a pop-up to end the game. Diaz is clearly the closer for the Mets and López is probably more like fourth in line should anything happen to Diaz, but the Mets had already used their high-leverage relievers earlier in the game and had a big enough lead to allow López to get his second save of the season.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #59
In a night that featured plenty of offense for both sides, Carrasco was tuned up for a season-high eight runs while pitching his second-shortest outing of the season. Despite being gifted a 3-0 lead before even taking to the mound, Carrasco would give that lead back in the second inning on a three-run homer to Alex Bregman and later allowed another three-run bomb to Jon Singleton to go down 8-3. Carrasco has now allowed 13 earned runs over his last nine innings pitched after allowing just seven runs over his first four starts. The veteran righty will look to correct course in his next outing, which is scheduled for Sunday against the Angels.
  • CHC Left Fielder #40
Tauchman had the Cubs’ only extra-base hit of the night and is now slashing .307/.435/.530 on the season. Perhaps more importantly, he was in the lineup and hitting sixth with a left-handed pitcher on the mound, which suggests that he’ll be an everyday player for the Cubs while Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki are sidelined. That makes him worth a short-term add in most formats.
  • NYM Left Fielder #29
Stewart took a sixth-inning pitch from Javier Assad and hit it 388 feet at 104.3 mph off the bat. It was the Mets’ only extra-base hit of the night, but the only one they’d need. Stewart now has four home runs and 14 RBI on the season, but his playing time has been less consistent since J.D. Martinez was activated. With Martinez at DH, the Mets are less inclined to play Stewart in the outfield, which will make it hard to roster him in most fantasy leagues.
