BIOgraphy

Guitarists
Just like the four cardinal points, four different guitar players influenced me and set off emotions in me, which I would like to express musically.

ANDRES SEGOVIA
The Master of „classical guitar“. His person and his technique fascinated me from the very beginning

JOE PASS
The „Star“ on the Jazz guitar. He is the absolute perfection on the instrument. I was lucky too meet up with him for some small-talk and to see him in “live and solo” before his death.

JIMI HENDRIX
E-Guitar from a different planet. So much has been written about him already. He will always be a fascination for me which influenced me decisively.

FRANK ZAPPA
The ingenious fusion of musician and composer, bandleader and mentor.

At the age of 12 I heard „Dark Side of the Moon”. From there onwards I knew what I wanted: The Guitar!

KEITH RICHARDS (Rolling Stones)
Technical prestidigitation and criticism one way or another. The “on-stage” presents and 50 years of experience are unique.

At the Age of 16 I began to play guitar with my first band. My attempt to get experience by playing the classical guitar was stopped by the volume of the others. The self built pick-up didn’t help much. So I was told to either get an E-Guitar as quickly as possible or to leave. I decided to take the first option. While getting rid of my classical guitar I also left behind my fear of working with the plectrum-technique.

This experience had the advantage, that after only three months I left the band because it had become too easy. At the same time, now at the age of 18, I took Jazz lessons. My first Highlight was the Jazz-Standard “Autumn leaves”. But only the visit at the Jazz festival in Montreux really lit my love for the Jazz-guitar.

After the basic practice in Jazz- and classical guitar I applied for the “Swiss Jazz School” in Bern where I had to pass an entry exam. Five years of education followed, during which I had the opportunity to join my teachers Andy Scherrer, U. Arlati, Joe Hairler and Ch. Baader for Live acts which gave me the experience necessary for my further musical career. My diploma since then, is hidden in the cupboard. Learning by doing is still my daily business.

My mentor at the „Swiss Jazz School“ in Bern was my teacher „Ira Kriss“. It was always his utmost concern, that every note you play, actually meant to be played.

From Big band Jazz (Trombone) over Fusion, all the way to Latin Music & Pop, I changed my style and the rehearsal room evening to evening, only to please the audience every weekend on stage.

During my studies I played in five different bands, so I would always be up to date. My personal slogan even today is still: Be as manifold as possible. This way I have a better chance to survive in the “music-circus”. Though this means for me, not to copy, not to have any limits, but to be ME. I am the Original, people want to hear Me, a mix of musicality, personality and extroversion.

Extensive Swiss tours with the „WAVEWATCHERS“ and the „GROOVE CONNECTION“ we’re followed by two CD Records and 4 tours in the UdSSR. Amongst Other:

  • Jazzfestival St. Petersburg (1991 & 1992)
  • Jazzfestival Petrozawodsk (1992 & 1993)
  • Jazzfestival Moscow (1993)
  • Kaliningrad (1993)

Parallel to the Tours I founded my own formation “FUNKOLOGY”, for which I composed entirely new music from 1995 to 1998. On Swiss Club tours, the Jazz festival Willisau (1997), Jazz festival Moscow and Kazan (1995) I acted in concert and performed live.

The Search for something new.

Over 20 years now I have been working as a teacher. During this job I was overrun by the Hip Hop Scene. Many of my students encouraged me to try something new. This way, I wouldn’t end up in a dead end, because I asked myself: “How can you combine Hip Hop and Jazz-Guitar or Jazz-Live-Music with DJ Turntables? After hesitating to rap in Swiss German, the Italian Rapper “Jovanotti” caught my attention. From that point, I had my idea, and my path was obvious once again.

Within 6 months, more exact from October 1996 to March 1997, I published my first Solo-Album: “Storia Personale” as front man and Rapper in Italian. I had rediscovered my language.

It became more and more obvious, that as front man I was receiving all the attention of the people, which is known to be a risk factor.

During this time, I additionally played the trombone in the “Cosimo Lampis Salsa Orchestra” with Latino rhythms and worked as arranger. This gave me a manifold insight into the south-American music scene.

The Year 1999 was something like a turning point in my life. In the middle of the preparation for my second solo-album I fell very ill. The illness forced me to a whole year of rest and withdrew me from the public. But there is no such thing as coincidence and this “break” was the most important one that formed my life. What influence it had on my music and my work, I can not define.

Beginning of the Year 2000, I started the first Mexico Tour with my favourite musician and friend, saxophonist Markus Hauser (CH). As a result of our tour we brought out 2 albums. Jazz mixed with original pieces from Argentina (Tangos) and Mexico (Boleros). In the following years we made two more tours through Mexico.

In December 2001, at one of my last concerts with the Band „FUNKOLOGY“, I met DJ Bobesch, who led me back to the roots. During a live concert he heard my Wah Wah guitar and showed me his version of it. Two days later after a two hour telephone conference with him, the band “THE BRAND NEW RHYTHM” was founded with 5 crazy stage performers. This band played pure funk: Deep Funk.

In June 2002 we started our first Switzerland Tour.

The new music chapter in my life consisted of following musicians:

Between 2001 and 2007 this band played over 100 concerts in Switzerland and Mexico. Diverse records, amongst them 3 Vinyl, 4 4 inch and one CD, followed. Bobesch’s demand is and will always be the “Real Funk”, be it by hook or by crook. His motto: “This band only is worth as much, as I have original soundtracks which are going to be rare in 20 years.” – He’s a DJ and thinks like a one.

„MINUS 8“ is and stays one of the few exceptional appearances. As DJ he dared to perform with “live musicians”. For that he has, as DJ and as Musician the flair, the impartiality and the drive to experiment. From this fertile Team-work the CD “Eclectica” (2004) and diverse live gigs in Holland, the UdSSR and a Tour through Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland and Turkey derived.

Beside these Activities I took up a new project with my long time musical guide – Roland Philipp “Phile”. Phile is a luminary. He played with “Defunkt”, “Intergalactic Maillen Ballet” and “The Clients” etc.

The Formation we assembled was called „POCKET-FUNK“. At this stage, Larry Woodley from Boston (USA) had his first appearance as front man. With this formation I was able to play lots of live concerts since august 2004, for example at the Open Air St. Gallen in 2005. In November 2004 the Studio-CD „Pocket-Funk“ was produced.

Out of the encounter with Larry Woodley, the „LARRY WOODLEY BAND“ played live on „Renaissance-Stage“ at the Jazz festival Montreux for a whole week in July 2004.

Further Club-concerts followed in Year 2005.

In the same Year I went on a long Switzerland tour with „BRAND NEW RYTHM“ and founded the „MARK HAUSERS ART PEPPER PROJECT“ with my lifelong musical partner – Markus Hauser.

This Formation was totally dedicated to his musical role model – “ART PEPPER” and to his Music. Pure Jazz, pure Energy! You can convince yourself with the CD which includes the phenomenal Live record “Live at Jazz Days Olten” from September 2005.

In October 2004 the „BRAND NEW RHYTHM”-CD followed: “B.N.R.”

The Year 2006 was full of activities as Live-Musician: Approximately 90 concerts! As a result, I recorded the live cut “Dennis Artis & the Geilos” with the formation of the “revived” Dennis Artis (former front man of Joe Geilo & the Heart breakers).

The Year 2007 became a dramatically drastic Year. On one side there are dark clouds over my life on the other side there is the completion of my last records “Decisioni”. This record however has until today not been published.

The genesis of this album has a story for itself. Certain songs have been produced back in 1999 and have only been improved in 2007. The producer of these records is no one less than “Tom Jackson”, for me the most important sound technician in my 30 year during musical career.

Tom Jackson is „the Man“! His reference list is unbelievable. He produced albums for David Bowie, Guano Apes, Betty Midler, Scorpions, Mike Oldfield and many more. Tom Jackson, with his excessive character, brought the maximum out of my songs, and so it became a very personal, absolutely great album.

In between I was live on stage on and off. In April 2007 I went on Mexico-Tour with “ELECTROFUNK” as well as I had different Club- and Open Air gigs with “MINUS 8”, “THE GEILOS” and “POCKET FUNK”. With the “BRAND NEW RHYTHM” we had an extensive Tour and in October the 45th single “B.N.R. Groove” was published. After Dennis Artis left the Band, we renamed it to “LP’s SOUL EXPRESS”. “LP” stands for “Loris Peloso”, a project under my own name, something that hasn’t been the case in years.

Gitarristen
Genau wie die vier Himmelsrichtungen haben mich vier verschiedene Gitarristen beeinflusst und Emotionen in mir ausgelöst, die ich musikalisch ausdrücken möchte.

ANDRES SEGOVIA
Der Meister der «klassischen Gitarre». Seine Person und seine Technik haben mich von Anfang an fasziniert.

JOE PASS
Der «Star» auf der Jazzgitarre. Er ist die absolute Perfektion auf diesem Instrument. Ich hatte das Glück, ihn vor seinem Tod noch zu einem Smalltalk zu treffen und ihn «live und solo» zu erleben.

JIMI HENDRIX
E-Gitarre von einem anderen Planeten. Es ist schon so viel über ihn geschrieben worden. Er wird für mich immer eine Faszination bleiben, die mich entscheidend geprägt hat.

Technische Spielereien und Kritik auf die eine oder andere Weise. Die Präsentationen auf der Bühne und 50 Jahre Erfahrung sind einzigartig.

Im Alter von 16 Jahren begann ich, in meiner ersten Band Gitarre zu spielen. Mein Versuch, Erfahrungen auf der klassischen Gitarre zu sammeln, wurde durch die Lautstärke der anderen gestoppt. Der selbstgebaute Tonabnehmer half auch nicht viel. Also wurde mir gesagt, ich solle mir entweder so schnell wie möglich eine E-Gitarre zulegen oder aufhören. Ich beschloss, die erste Option zu wählen. Als ich mich von meiner klassischen Gitarre trennte, ließ ich auch meine Angst vor der Plektrumtechnik hinter mir.

Diese Erfahrung hatte den Vorteil, dass ich nach nur drei Monaten die Band verließ, weil sie mir zu einfach geworden war. Zur gleichen Zeit nahm ich, nun im Alter von 18 Jahren, Jazzunterricht. Mein erstes Highlight war der Jazz-Standard «Autumn leaves». Aber erst der Besuch des Jazzfestivals in Montreux hat meine Liebe zur Jazzgitarre richtig entfacht.

Nach der Grundausbildung in Jazz- und klassischer Gitarre bewarb ich mich an der «Swiss Jazz School» in Bern, wo ich eine Aufnahmeprüfung absolvieren musste. Es folgten fünf Jahre Ausbildung, in denen ich mit meinen Lehrern Andy Scherrer, U. Arlati, Joe Hairler und Ch. Baader Live-Auftritte absolvieren durfte, die mir die nötige Erfahrung für meine weitere musikalische Laufbahn gaben. Mein Diplom ist seither im Schrank versteckt. Learning by doing ist immer noch mein tägliches Geschäft.

Mein Mentor an der «Swiss Jazz School» in Bern war mein Lehrer «Ira Kriss». Ihm war es immer ein grosses Anliegen, dass jeder Ton, den man spielt, auch wirklich gespielt werden soll.

Von Big Band Jazz (Posaune) über Fusion, bis hin zu Latin Music & Pop, wechselte ich von Abend zu Abend meinen Stil und den Proberaum, nur um jedes Wochenende auf der Bühne das Publikum zu erfreuen.

Während meines Studiums habe ich in fünf verschiedenen Bands gespielt, so dass ich immer auf dem neuesten Stand war. Mein persönliches Motto ist auch heute noch: Sei so vielfältig wie möglich. So habe ich eine bessere Chance, im «Musik-Zirkus» zu überleben. Wobei das für mich bedeutet, nicht zu kopieren, keine Grenzen zu haben, sondern ICH zu sein. Ich bin das Original, die Leute wollen mich hören, eine Mischung aus Musikalität, Persönlichkeit und Extrovertiertheit.

Auf ausgedehnten CH-Touren mit den WAVEWATCHERS sowie der GROOVE CONECTION folgten zwei CD Einspielungen  und 4 Tourneen in der UdSSR. Unter anderem:

  • Jazzfestival St. Petersburg (1991 & 1992)
  • Jazzfestival Petrozawodsk (1992 & 1993)
  • Jazzfestival Moskau (1993)
  • Kaliningrad (1993)

Parallel zu den Touren gründete ich die eigene Formation FUNKOLOGY, für die ich in den Jahren 1995 bis 1998 ausschliesslich neue Musik komponierte. Arrangierte und live auf Schweizer Clubtouren, dem Jazzfestival Willisau (1997), dem Jazzfestival Moskau und Kazan (1995) performte.

Die Suche nach etwas Neuem

Seit über 20 Jahren bin ich auch als Lehrer tätig. In dieser Arbeit wurde ich regelrecht von der Hip Hip-Szene überrollt. Mehrere meiner Ex-Studenten ermutigten mich, mal etwas Neues zu wagen. So konnte ich selbst nicht in einer Sackgasse landen, denn ich fragte mich: „Wie kann man HipHop und Jazzgitarre oder Jazz-Live-Music mit DJ-Turntables miteinander verbinden?“

Nach anfänglichem zögern, in Schweizer Dialekt zu rappen, wurde ich auf den Italienischen Rapper „Jovanotti“ aufmerksam. Ab da hatte ich die Idee und mein Weg war wieder klar.

Innert 6 Monaten, genauer von Oktober 1996 bis März 1997, veröffentlichte ich mein erstes Solo-Album „Storia Personale“ als Frontman und Rapper in italiensich. Ich hatte meine Sprache wieder entdeckt.

Mir wurde immer klarer, dass ich als Frontman die ganze Aufmerksamkeit der Leute auf mich zog, das bekanntlich auch einen so genannten Risikofaktor beinhaltet.

In dieser Zeit war ich zusätzlich als Posaunist in dem „Cosimo Lampis Salsa Orchestra“ mit Latino Rhythmen als Musiker und Arrangeur tätig. Dies erlaubte mir einen vielfältigen Einblick in die südamerikanische Musikszene.

Das Jahr 1999 war in meinem Leben so etwas wie ein Wendepunkt: Mitten in den Vorbereitungen für das zweite Soloalbum bekam ich eine schwere Krankheit, die mich fast ein ganzes Jahr komplett zur Ruhe zwang und ich ganz aus der Öffentlichkeit verschwand. Doch es gibt keine Zufälle und diese „Auszeit“ war die wichtigste, die mein Leben prägte. Welchen Einfluss sie jedoch auf meine Musik und Arbeit hatte, kann ich nicht definieren.

Anfang 2000 startete ich mit meinen Lieblingsmusiker und Freund, Saxophonist Markus Hauser (CH), die erste Mexico-Tour. Als Ergebnis spielten wir 2 Alben ein: Jazz gemixt mit originalen Stücken aus Argentinien (Tangos) und Mexico (Boleros). In den darauf folgenden Jahren folgten zwei weitere Tourneen durch Mexico.

Im Dezember 2001 traf ich bei einem meiner letzten Konzerten mit der Band „FUNKOLOGY“ DJ Bobesch, der mich „back to the roots“ zurückführte.

An einem Live Konzert hörte DJ Bobesch meine Wah Wah Gitarre und zeigte mir seine Vision. Zwei Tage später, nach einem zweistündigen Telefongespräch mit ihm wurde mit fünf „crazy Stage Performern“ die Band „THE BRAND NEW RHYTHM“ gegründet, die Funk pur: Deep Funk spielte. Im Juni 2002 starteten wir die 1. Schweizer-Tournee.

Das neue Musikkapitel in meinem Leben bestand aus den Musikern:

Diese Band spielte zwischen 2001 und 2007 über 100 Konzerte in der Schweiz und Mexico. Diverse Einspielungen, darunter 3 Vinyl, 4 4inch und eine CD, folgten. Bobesch’s Anspruch ist und bleibt: der „Real Funk“ auf biegen und brechen. Sein Motto: „Mir nützt diese Band nur soviel, wie ich im Nachhinein Original Aufnahmen habe, die in 20 Jahren Raritäten sind.“ – Er ist DJ und denkt wie ein DJ!

„MINUS 8“ ist und bleibt für mich eine Ausnahmeerscheinung. Als DJ wag er sich an „Live Musiker“, um mit ihnen zu performen. Dafür hat er sowohl als DJ, als auch als Musiker das Gespür, eine Unvoreingenommenheit und Experimentierfreude. Aus dieser fruchtbaren Zusammenarbeit stammt die CD „Eclectica“ (2004), diverse Live Auftritte in Holland, der UdSSR und eine Tour durch Malaysia, Singapur, sowie durch die Schweiz und die Türkei.

Die Formation, die wir zusammenstellten heisst: „POCKET-FUNK“. Erstmals kam hier Larry Woodley aus Boston (USA), als Frontman zum Einsatz. Mit dieser Formation konnte ich seit August 2004 viele Live-Konzerte in der Schweiz bestreiten, z.B. Open Air St. Gallen 2005. Im November 2004 wurde die Studio-CD „Pocket-Funk“ eingespielt.

Aus dieser Begegnung mit Larry Woodley heraus, konnte mit der „LARRY WOODLEY BAND im Juli 2004 am Jazzfestival Montreux eine Woche lang im „Renaissance-Stage“ live spielen. Weitere Clubkonzerte folgten im Jahre 2005.

Im gleichen Jahr ging ich mit „BRAND NEW RHYTHM“ auf eine ausgedehnte Schweizer-Tournee und gründete mit meinem musikalischen „Lebenspartner“ – Markus Hauser – das „MARK HAUSERS ART PEPPER PROJECT“. Diese Formation ist ganz seinem musikalischen Vorbild – „ART PEPPER“ – und seiner Musik gewidmet: Jazz pur! Energie pur! Überzeugen kann man sich davon auf der CD mit der phänomenalen Liveeinspielung „Live at Jazz Days Olten“ vom September 2005. Darauf folgte im Oktober 2005 die „Brand New Rhythm“-CD „B.N.R.“.

Das Jahr 2006 war voll mit Aktivitäten als Live-Musiker: ca. 90 Konzerte! Als Ergebnis spielte ich den Live-Mitschnitt „Dennis Artis & the Geilos“ mit der Formation des „auferstandenen“ Dennis Artis (Ex-Frontman von Joe Geilo & the Heartbreakers) ein.

Das Jahr 2007 wurde ein dramatisches und einschneidendes Jahr. Auf der einen Seite werfen sich tief greifende Schatten in mein Leben, zum anderen steht dem gegenüber die Vollendung eines meiner letzten Aufnahmen: „Decisioni“. Diese Aufnahme ist jedoch bis heute nicht veröffentlicht.

Die Entstehung dieses Albums ist eine Story für sich: Gewisse Songs wurden bereits im Jahr 1999 produziert und erst 2007, zusammen mit neuen Songs, fertig gestellt. Der Produzent dieser Aufnahmen ist kein geringerer als Tom Jackson, für mich der wichtigste Tontechniker meiner bald 30jährigen Karriere.

Tom Jackson ist „The Man“! Seine Referenzliste ist unglaublich! Er produzierte Alben für David Bowie, Guano Apes, Betty Midler, Scorpions, Mike Oldfield und vielen anderen. Tom Jackson holte aus meinen Songs in seiner Exzessivität das Beste und absolut Maximalste heraus und so wurde es ein sehr persönliches und geniales Album.

Dazwischen war ich immer wieder live unterwegs: Im April 2007 ging ich mit ELECTROFUNK auf eine Mexiko-Tournée, sowie auf diverse Club- und Open Air Auftritten mit MINUS 8, THE GEILOS und POCKET FUNK. Mit den BRAND NEW RHYTHM gab es im Mai 2007 eine ausgedehnte Tour und im Oktober wurde die 45’’ single „B.N.R. Groove“ veröffentlicht. Nach dem Weggang von Dennis Artis wurde Band auf „LP’s SOUL EXPRESS“ umgetauft. Dabei steht LP für „Loris Peloso“, ein Projekt unter meinem Namen, was seit Jahren nicht der Fall war.

I chitarristi
Come i quattro punti cardinali, quattro diversi chitarristi mi hanno influenzato e hanno suscitato in me emozioni che vorrei esprimere musicalmente.

ANDRES SEGOVIA
Il Maestro della «chitarra classica». La sua persona e la sua tecnica mi hanno affascinato fin dall’inizio.

JOE PASS
La «stella» della chitarra jazz. È la perfezione assoluta sullo strumento. Ho avuto la fortuna di incontrarlo per qualche chiacchiera e di vederlo «dal vivo e in solo» prima della sua morte.

JIMI HENDRIX
La chitarra elettronica di un altro pianeta. Di lui si è già scritto tanto. Per me sarà sempre un fascino che mi ha influenzato in modo decisivo.

FRANK ZAPPA
La geniale fusione di musicista e compositore, bandleader e mentore.

DAVE GILMOUR (Pink Floyd)
All’età di 12 anni ho ascoltato «Dark Side of the Moon». Da quel momento in poi ho capito cosa volevo: La chitarra!

KEITH RICHARDS (Rolling Stones)
Prestidigitazione tecnica e critica in un modo o nell’altro. I regali «sul palco» e i 50 anni di esperienza sono unici.

Le mie prime esperienze come chitarrista in un complesso le ho fatto da sedicenne. Purtroppo avevo solamente una chitarra classica con un piccolissimo microfono che avevo integrato. Il problema era che con quel volume minimo affondavo totalmente nel “sound” del gruppo.

Gli altri mi obbligarono a comprarmi una chitarra elettrica e mi adattai ad imparare la tecnica col plettro.

Questa esperienza ha avuto il vantaggio che dopo 3 mesi ottenni già un notevole livello musicale e lasciai il primo gruppo. Iniziai come 18enne a prendere le prime lezioni di jazz. Il mio primo pezzo jazz era”Autumn leaves”. La decisione di studiare seriamente la chitarra jazz la presi al mio primo incontro con questo stile musicale al Jazz Festival di Montreux.

Dopo i primi passi con la chitarra classica e la chitarra jazz decisi di frequentare il Conservatorio Jazz di Berna (Svizzera). Conclusi i 5 anni di studio ebbi la fortuna di lavorare con musica dal vivo insieme ai miei professori e maestri come: Andy Scherrer, Arlati, Joe Haider, Ch. Baader e molti altri.

Il mio diploma è finito nel cassetto. La realtà del musicista non è legata ad un diploma.

Il mio maestro artistico al Conservatorio Jazz di Berna è stato il mio professore di chitarra, Ira Kriss.

Da lui ho appreso che ogni nota suonata deve avere una sua funzione propria e che non bisogna mai suonare una melodia inutile.

In quel periodo il mio repertorio spaziava dalla Big Band (Trombone) Fusion passando per i Ritmi latino-americani fino ad approdare al Pop.

Ogni sera suonavo con un gruppo musicale diverso ed il fine settimana presentavamo il nostro repertorio nei più disparati club musicali esibendoci dal vivo.

Durante la mia formazione musicale suonavo in cinque diverse band per essere sempre “up to date”. Sono convinto che per sopravvivere sulla scena musicale bisogna essere molto flessibile come musicista ed artista, ma restando sempre sé stessi e non imitando nessuno. L’originale sono io ed è questo che il pubblico vuole sentire ed apprezzare. Un mix esplosivo di musicalità, personalità e stravaganza.

Dopo diverse tournée in Svizzera con WAVEWATCHERS e GROOVE CONNECTION seguirono due incisioni per due CD e quattro tournée in Russia:

Parallelamente fondai la formazione FUNKOLOGY. Nel periodo dal 1995 fino al 1998 mi iniziai a comporre i miei propri pezzi musicali per questa formazione. Seguirono diversi concerti in Svizzera e la partecipazione al “Jazz Festival di Willisau” (1997) ed al Jazz Festival di Mosca e quello di Kazan (1995) in Russia.

Alla ricerca di qualcosa di nuovo.

Dopo venti anni di lavoro come professore di chitarra mi spinsi artisticamente anche nell’universo “Hip Hop”. Incoraggiato da molti studenti giovani iniziai ad integrare questo stile nella mia musica. Personalmente, questa nuova esperienza di mescolare Rap e musica Jazz ed un CD di Jovanotti mi diede l’ispirazione giusta per comporre dei brani in italiano.

Nel giro di sei mesi (ottobre 1996 fino a marzo 1997) realizzai il mio primo capolavoro “Storia personale” da Rapper all’italiana, trovando così la mia espressione artistica nella lingua italiana. Come rapper o cantante l’ammirazione del pubblico è scontata, comunque resta un certo rischio ed è connesso con molta responsabilità.

Nello stesso periodo suonavo il trombone nel complesso “Cosimo Lampis Salsa Orchestra” fungendo anche da arrangiatore per questa formazione. L’esperienza fatta con la cultura musicale sudamericana è preziosa.

Il 1999 è stato un anno particolare per me: una malattia improvvisa mi ha costretto ad interrompere la fase preparatoria del secondo album per quasi un anno intero. Ma come spesso nella vita, ogni evento improvviso ha la sua ragione d’essere, ed è solo più tardi che si manifesta il perché di tal episodio…

Nel 2000 ho iniziato a lavorare con il mio amico e musicista preferito. Insieme al sassofonista

Markus Hauser sono andato in tournée in Messico. Risultato di quest’avventura musicale è l’incisione di due CD: un mix di pezzi originali argentini (tango) e messicani (bolero) col jazz. Nei seguenti due anni seguirono due altre tournée in Messico.

“Minus 8” resta un’eccezione. Come DJ nella scena del House è uno dei personaggi rari che lavora con musica dal vivo. È un personaggio che non si lascia mai limitare da certe mode. Con lui mi sono manifestato sul suo CD “ECLECTICA” (2004). In più ho avuto l’occasione di dare diversi concerti dal vivo in Olanda, Russia e in più andare in tournée in Malaysia,  Svizzera e Turchia.

Parallelamente a tutte queste attività, realizzavamo un nuovo progetto con Roland Philipp, uno dei miei amici musicali più intimi.

Nacque “POCKET FUNK”, una formazione che per la prima volta con il cantante Larry Woodley di Boston (USA). Con questa costellazione, a partire del 2004, si realizzarono tanti concerti in Svizzera,  come all’Open air di San Gallo, e via dicendo.

Nel novembre 2004 ho inciso il CD “POCKET FUNK”

Tramite il contatto con Larry Woodley ho avuto la possibilità di lavorare con lui per una settimana intera (7 shows) al Jazz Festival di Montreux, dove esattamente 20 anni prima ero tra il pubblico.Nel 2005 seguirono diversi concerti in vari club musicali in Svizzera.

Nello stesso anno un’altra tournee con “BRAND NEW RHYTHM”.

Con Markus Hauser formammo un’altra formazione “MARK HAUSERS’S ART PEPPER PROJECT” – musicalmente, jazz puro nello stile del Be Bop degli anni ‘50.

L’anno 2007 è stato un anno drammatico e decisivo. Da un lato, momenti difficilissimi nella mia vita privata, ma dall’altro lato, la realizzazione delle mie ultime incisioni con il titolo “DECISIONI”. Al momento, quello che definisco il mio capolavoro, non è ancora sul mercato.

La realizzazione di quest’album è una storia particolare. Certi brani erano stati registrati nel 1999 e altri gli incisi nel 2007. Il produttore dell’album è Tom Jackson, il mio produttore più importante nella mia carriera trentennale.

Tom Jackson “is the man”. La sua lista di referenze è incredibile, avendo all’attivo capolavori per David Bowie, Guano Apes, Scorpions e tanti altri. Con la sua passione, perfezione e genialità ha ottenuto il massimo. Un capolavoro!

Nel frattempo sono andato nuovamente in tournée in Messico con “ELECTROFUNK” (aprile 2007). Ho dato concerti con MINUS 8 e POCKET FUNK e con BRAND NEW RHYTHM” abbiamo realizzato un’altra tournee nel maggio del 2007.

Dopo la partenza di Dennis Artis  dalla formazione “THE GEILOS”, nacque

“LP’s SOUL- EXPRESS” . LP sta per LORIS PELOSO, un nuovo progetto dal mio nome. Ed una situazione che non si manifestava da anni…
